Using Public Law and Compact to protect your organisation and its funding
Have you ever worried about funding cuts or felt that a decision is unfair? If so then this is the session for you.
Voluntary and community groups work with public bodies all the time - whether loacl councils, health authorities, the Big Lottery Fund or government departments.
Why does it feel like they always have the power?
This session is a brief introduction to the key principles of Public Law and the Compact and how you can address things that go wrong. With case studies and practical tips it could be the most sueful session you attend this year. Come along and find out that public bodies don't have the power - you do.
The session will help you to understand:
- what is public law
- the real power of the Compact
- how to identify what can go wrong in the relationship
- what you can do to put things right
- how to use the free advice service
By the end of the session you will appreciate that the relationship between the public sector and voluntary and community organisations need not be fraught with difficulty and disappointment and that the power of challenge is yours!
