This session is for anyone who would like an overview of the key features of the voluntary sector but it is particularly aimed at new staff, trustees, management committee members or volunteers.
The session will explore:
- Definitions for terms such as 'third sector', 'voluntary sector', 'not for profit' and 'social enterprise'
- Key legal structures for the voluntary and community sector.
- What does it mean to be a registered charity?
- Key characteristics of voluntary sector organisations
