According to ACAS 'it is managers at the first tier of line management who have the greatest influence on the way people behave and their attitude to their organisation.'
In voluntary and community groups often a manager has a pressured workload of their own as well as the responsibility for staff. This one day course looks at the role of the manager/supervisor and the skills needed to provide effective management and support.
By the end of the course, participants will have:
- Considered the purpose of staff supervision and its role in performance management
- Discussed good practice in supervision sessions inlcuding models and formats
- Considered how to give effective and constructive feedback
- Practiced their supervision skills
- Developed a personal action plan to improve their supervision skills
