Getting started on computers

Need a little help getting started with computers and the Internet?

In the library you can learn at your own pace, with staff help and support available when you need it.   Our Myguide courses are short (20-40 minutes) courses which show you

• how to use the mouse and keyboard
• how to use the Internet safely
• how to use email

All our computer courses are FREE of charge

Almost all our libraries run Myguide computer courses – please ask at your local branch.  If they can't help you they will direct you to another library nearby.  You should expect to come once a week for 5-6 weeks to begin with.

Once you are comfortable with the basics you can choose what to do next:

• Accessing public services such as the NHS, the Government or the local Council
• Job hunting and interviews
• Online shopping
• Online banking
